Capability
Network technology assurance
Auditing core banking, switching, card and merchant systems against the throughput standards the network requires.
Banks are full of systems, and every vendor represents its own as the strongest available. What matters to a shared network is not the quality of any single component but whether the whole stack, working together, sustains the performance the network depends on.
The card schemes established this principle decades ago. A member whose systems cannot hold the network’s throughput is penalised, because the shortfall degrades service for every counterparty.
What the audit examines
- Core banking platform capacity under sustained and peak load.
- Switch performance, routing, and failover across the transaction path.
- Card management and merchant management systems, and the interfaces between them.
- Integration points where components from different vendors meet.
- Resilience, recovery position, and operational monitoring.
What the bank receives
A measured position against the network’s minimum standards, the specific constraints holding throughput below them, and a prioritised remediation path. A member bank may address the findings through HAEMPCS, through its existing vendors, or through any third party it chooses.
